The Supreme Court has recently ordered the Centre to distribute food grains from overflowing Government owned go-downs to the million poor of our country instead of letting it rot in rains.
On Monday, the Food and Civil Supplies Ministry has in fact admitted in an affidavit to the Supreme Court that more than 67,000 tonnes of food grains have gone waste as they were rotting in overflowing go-downs without being distributed.continue reading
