This is to cordially invite you to a meeting / workshop on "GMOs and Health Hazards". We have the pleasure of the presence of Jeffrey Smith, author of "Seeds of Deception" and "Genetic Roulette". Jeffrey Smith has worked intensely and for long on the Health Hazards of GMOs. Issues of Food Safety, Bio Safety have tended to be neglected in the promotion of GMOs.

Dr. Jeffrey Smith will share his insights and findings with doctors, health personnel and those involved in Health and Safety issues and policy making.

This meeting is important as introduction of Bt Brinjal in the market is being pushed by the company involved. So far no GM food crop has been approved for commercial sales in the Indian market. Without adequate testing, the introduction of GM crops poses a health hazard. To discuss these vital issues, please join us.

Genetically engineered foods and crops are being imposed by the biotechnology industry inspite of health risks, environmental risks, risks of seed monopolies and economic risks for farmers who have been pushed to suicides because of indebtedness.

An international panel of speakers will address these far reaching implications of GMO Foods for our health, for the environment and for democracy.
