We have turned our backs to the Earth. We have forgotten that she supports us, that she gives us food, she gives us water. The Right to Food & Water are derived from the Rights of Mother Earth. The more we neglect her and privatize her resources, the more people go hungry and without water.
As we celebrate 20 years of Navdanya’s formal existence, we celebrate Earth Democracy based on our practice of Bija Swaraj, Bhu Swaraj, Anna Swaraj, Jal Swaraj and Van Swaraj.
Bolivia has initiated a process to introduce the Universal Declaration of the Rights of Mother Earth to complement the Universal Declaration on Human Rights in the UN, where Navdanya is playing an active role articulating Earth Rights, the Rights of the Planet. Bhoomi, the Earth Movement will connect the struggles of our adivasis and farmers in defence of their land, the Movements for the right to food and right to water, and Movements for human rights in one indivisible fabric rooted in the Earth & her ecological life supporting processes.
We invite you to celebrate the Earth and participate in
